Writers: When Do You Start Over?

So, I’ve been working on this story for awhile. I have about 50 pages written, but in the process of doing that I have learned so much about improving my writing. I have also had new idea explosions that have infiltrated my imagination, and I so desperately want to incorporate them into my current story because I believe they will make it stronger.

Because of all this, I’m thinking about restarting from page 1.

What do you guys do? Do you continue on with your current draft, even if better/more exciting ideas pop into your head while you writing it? Or do you restart if you believe it is the best thing for you story?
